good job masking the water drops. there is a long line from the fin to the nose just outside the body.

author says:

Thanks BWR.. saw it ... changed it

(5 years and 249 days ago)

BWR says:

A little trick to find yuckies that weren't masked properly is to just add a Stroke to that layer. Trust me, it will find them!! I left some garbage on the left, added a Stroke, and you can CLEARLY see them. https://image.ibb.co/d4jVHe/yuckies.jpg

author says:

Good tip BWR, But using ctrl + the layer(click) gives it also away, the selected parts i don't want always appear... probely did not get to much sleep, for giving it that last check... but heh, that's were you guys come in so handy.. thanks

If the whale is supposed to be breaching through high clouds, I'd think about eliminating the water drops. He'd get pretty dry getting up there.

author says:

Clouds are water.. condens

(5 years and 250 days ago)

BWR says:

I'm not sure I agree. As the author said, "clouds are water". I'm not sure if a whale would have that much water coming off it if it somehow leaped through the clouds as I am not an expert on whales leaping through clouds. Perhaps it would get misty/dewy. Perhaps if it's a rain cloud it would get fairly wet. Perhaps you are right and it would be totally dry. But my final thoughts are that I like the water coming off the whale.

Now we are sending mixed signals to the author and he/she will have to make up their mind.

In my opinion the whale and splash are too sharp, it would be good to soften them to better integrate them into the background.

BWR says:

That's possibly a good idea. One the author may want to experiment with. Change the whale to a Smart Object and mess around with some blurs.

author says:

Hahaha.. I like your comments.. there so funny.. you start a discussion about if the water drops are out of place..... hmmmmm..this the Wrong place competition, is it not?????????

Author, I find your water droplets highly offensive.. water droplets above the cloud line would be crystallized into little diamonds shaped like space ships from the warriors of the planet Koozvane in the dimension where Zoo-Zuu the emperor princess wanted to take over for her sister because she was a really nice girl and she just thought it would be appropriate to see her face on the coin of Kreplok.

Also you didn't show how a whales ears would pop at such an altitude and his blow hole would be very jealous but since the blow hole has custody of the children she didn't say anything, didn't want to muck up the waters and all that rot you know. A girl has to think about her family. Yeesh and burger crunchies.

(Great chop by the way, and I gave you a few extra points on top of everything because I'm a sarcastic old bastard and just can't stop giggling) ^5

author says:

Now i start giggling too. .... thanks 😂

You know that dream?
The one where gravity can't make up its mind?
One minute you're floating, the next, you're falling. No matter what you do, you can't seem to control which direction you're going in, so you desperately try to swim through the air.

Good image, the edges are a bit harsh though (specially the grass > sky and the woman). You can easily fix this by making a new top layer (select 'sample all layers'), using a small 2px blur brush, and go over those edges.

author says:

thanks for the tip
i also added little shadows, is it better now?

Thanks. The lady who fell overboard might not agree that she scored very well but the whale might have scored a good meal.

Pretty funny idea -). Tiny suggestion: if you use own images and have a clue where you want to add the orca, it's good to focus on thát part of the plate that should be really sharp (in this case, where the orca jumps). Right now it's juuuust a bit blurry. Nothing terrible, but never wrong to keep in mind. Also, the milk is thicker and has a bit more color than the splash that the orca creates. That flying cheerio and reflections are nice details! Good luck!

avatar CMYK46
CMYK46 says:

Close. The orca would displace a lot more. Good idea though,
