all the people in color while the surrounding is reddish-brown? suggest all full-color 
Creative but IMO you must work in the people standing blend, maybe a red filter... good luck!
I love the idea & image as a whole.... little late now but try the blur tool on the edges when blending

Why not use the contest sign as well, rather than just a piece of sky?
CMYK has a point. Apart from that, according to the landscap the light comes from the upper left corner, so you'd see the sign with some light in the left and a shadow in the grass. Good luck!
