Yeah yeah, I know, well, I've been looking for pictures of tarantulas, and most of the pictures I realized I fit in the palm of the hand. Then resize it consistent with the model's hand.

Very intelligent use of source! There are a couple of nit picks to send this over the top though. I'm not sure what blur effect you used for the background, but would suggest a lens blur instead to add realism. Also I would try to add some noise to the spider and match it with the noise used with the lens blur. Really good idea, good luck!

Apart from what Chalty says, I'd also remove one pir of paws from the spider and perhaps lower the spider a bit (more in front of the waterfall) so that there's more contrast between spider and background (and there would be more balance in composition: something sharp above and something sharp under), but that last point is up to you.
