Stork Ballet - created by skyangel

Stork Ballet
Favs: 1SBS: n/aHi-resRank: 1/11Score: 65.4% (36)13359 views

The stork was cut out in sections and each section was rotated and transformed to fit the model pose.
The wings were cut from sources 2 & 3 to make the wings that cover the arms. The merged image was copied and flipped vertically, then blended on multiply mode to create the reflection.
Another merged image was copied and filtered with the poster edges filter to enhance the edges. It was blended on 30% soft light mode.
The background was made using the render clouds filter and the other clouds were painted over it using the cloud brushes. New feathers were painted on the head area
A vignette was added to keep the viewers attention in the centre.
Enjoy the stork ballet. (5 years and 618 days ago)

This is nice, I thought of the same kind of concept when I saw the image too!?!.... as good as it is I think it could be improved by paying some more attention to two areas;

(1) making sure the reflection matches the feet, especially the hind foot... it looks slightly off IMO

(2) Adding a little thickness to the spiral and rear opening......

author says:

Thanks JamesD, took another look and made those changes

Nice water effect! (Guess I need to get myself one of those programs!!) Perhaps you would consider matching the color of the water to the rest of the sky. Notice the blue (from the original sky) in the reflection, like a halo around the boat, and how it ends rather abruptly. There is nothing in the sky that would cause the water to change color.

author says:

Thanks for the comment, on reflection, the water is a little flat (See what I did there...)

Interesting water effect. The ripples look very strong; they should ripple along the bottom edge of the boat too. I think the reflection would be more distorted, and more faded toward the bottom of the picture.
