This piece of art is my dedication to the nature itself because I love forest and mystical creatures.

Techniques Iâ€™ve been used is a matte painting inside Adobe Photoshop. Lots of chops from the source image as well as textures to cover the Ancient Protectorâ€™s body. External images are my own (snapshots of my buddy) to pose the human characters. Brushing and airbrushing are required to grow vines and summon the Ancient Protector with the rules of third and golden mean composition (I almost forgot to apply those rules since Iâ€™m working as a character and creature artist rather than environment or cinematic), after that; I made touch ups in Adobe After Effects as a post-production stage and finally end up in Adobe Lightroom to enhance details and sharpens the final artwork.

Kid, if I made the monster a little brighter, yes it can pops up but in my humbly opinion; I tried so hard to make it merged into the environment so it doesn't look so fake. Because it's a painting inside a photo real. = )

I really like the composition, author...just wish the woman fit into environment better. Perhaps the lighting on her doesn't match the lighting in the forest. If you adjust this, it might place her there better.

1 source image used................night effect achieved with the help of levels and curves............clouds made with "render clouds" filter..............a lens flare applied behind the moon which is a simple cirlce........glow effect of the palace achieved by duplicating the layer twice, applying a gaussian blur of 4-5 to the underneath layer and then setting the blend mode of the above layer to color dodge..........reflection achieved with the gold old ripples filter.....hope u guys like it....:) (5 years and 3526 days ago)

as i said that has been purposely done to prevent the palace from fading......a dull palace wuldn't have looked good.....thnx nyways for pointing it out

I agree with CMYK, either change the colour of the flamingo head or the body, or even add some gradual feather brushes that slowly change colour into each other. That's just my opinion, it;s a very nice imaginative and atmospheric image either way, so good luck!

looks good, the wings are great! maaaaybe extend the orange part all the way to his body so his neck is not half orange half white but it it's not a big deal thought it might look better
