I would think the hair would have a more drastic color change with the years you have given him. Also the neck, nose and ears all need to be altered more to show the change in age, older guys get big noses, saggy ears and turkey necks. JMO

Maybe if you put a background in this image, changed the color of the floor, everything is red, a little more work the lights and shadows, I believe will get a more realistic result. Good Luck

i like the concept.
perhaps you can find some penguins that looked "proud" (looking upwards),
as if saying "you weirdo, low class...creature" or something.
this may create a "story" or "scene"
