This is a poster and t-shirt idea that I started sketching out of boredom one day. Everything accept the moon was hand drawn. I went outside and took a picture of the moon with a Sony Digital SLR Still Camera. I had to bring my sketch into Photoshop to draw up the outline first. Then I had to cut the outline into pieces in order to style each section of the artwork individually. The project was rather time consuming, but I enjoyed the work, because it cured my boredom. It was fun and I hope those viewing it at pxleyes.com enjoy the idea. (5 years and 2585 days ago)

I lost signal when I was trying to upload the Step-by-Step. I got as far as uploading the sketched image. I have about 15 steps left to upload and I do not know how to go in and edit my step-by-step.

Just go to the menu at the top of the page, then go to "my stuff" and select "my contest entries". Here you can edit your entry or add to your step by step. Be sure to include your own photos uncut as part of the SBS

author says:

Okay. That sounds easy enough. Thanks spaceranger.

Background spiders should be as blurry as background web.

avatar enblanco
enblanco says:

Nice concept but IMHO background is too much blury. Good luck!

avatar MossyB
MossyB says:

The spiders look too cut and paste, floating in front of the webs, rather than being part of them.

author says:

Thanks for comments. Made the web sharper. Mossy, thanks!

Whoa! I have a feeling it will be *you*.

I don't know if it's possible but there's an "Empty Space" about 1/3rd to top-left. Also some "people" have their z-orders wrong hence are giving a sense of floating in mid-air. Eg: That red dude in front of that blue lady. Oh wait! Lemme rephrase: That red dude behind that cyan kid, behind that cyan guy, behind that magenta lady, behind that blue woman, behind that violet lass in front. Better

author says:

LOL, part of the idea is to create the chaos of the time of Margaret Sander, not to make a visually "Approved" image by PS standards, I do believe I created an image of overpopulation, but Margaret's greatest concern were the women of the time, having over 20 children before the age of 35 and having their internal organs so ripped to shreds that they died or suffered miserably because they didn't have healthy access to birth control, thanks nbaztec,

as to the 1/3 back, that's where I wanted to show children as part of the piece (there is no attempt to make it look like a photograph, it's an interpretation wall visual)

avatar nbaztec
nbaztec says:

Oh, I had no idea about that. Thanks for educating me on that. Also you chaos is more like the Chaos Theory from the time of Ronald Reagan(Order in Chaos). I like what you have done with 100+ layers. When you go that distance it either a masterpiece or "modern art". Good luck.

What a great interpretation of her cause! Never heard of her before, went to wiki to read about her, she was quite a woman. There's a Planned Parenthood a bit south of me - she left quite a legacy. Good work, author. Love the symbolism of the colors and textures.

To me, this would be more dramatic if the two were face-to-face (both pure profile) rather than having the lion being off to the side while she looks past it. Darkening the background would make the foreground figures stand out more.
