I agree with CMYK, this would have been perfect for use with a displacement map. It's still a nice image though.

Either displacemment map or even liquefy some of the edges of the source to make it fit the curves of the face more.

The idea is nice, but you could try to improve it by giving the texture depth and shading.

nice idea -- work on the blending on the edges they are too sharpe an giv the image a pasted together look some blur or work with a soft brush on the masks

it's not really 3D...

If you put on green and red 3D glasses it kinda works. I've done this before. It doesn't come out perfectly (maybe yours does, I don't kow, my glasses are lost) but it does pop! Great job. I wish I knew where my glasses are. Yes, I do have some in the house!

Doesn't work without the glasses...

I have to agree with everyone else, i like the idea a lot, but to be honest without the glasses it really doesn't work. I personally would;ve only applied the effect to the beak, that way if someone does have the glasses, only the beak would pop out, this would be a lot more effective in my opinion. Good luck.

I'd limit the cracks to just the head, but it's still funny!
