If you're going to use a few chain segments, you can't just blur out the ends, you have to make the segments look convincing...

I like the chain, but these little creatures could be bettered, kind of getting rid of the traces, using dodge and burn tools or shadows and highlights, something in this line

funny and good... but that creatures are repetative and does not fits with the chain
