Quickly, the portal is visibile now. Go back in time with me, but hurry, I'm already beginning to vapourize...

Photo of woman is one that I took at Disney World. Saturation lowered on background and woman. Flamingo head used for umbrella handle, with plastic filter. "Flood" added to old sink 'portal' under woman, and noise added to woman with masking. Additional sink drain used for light on engine, beams, glow and fog painted in. (5 years and 2768 days ago)

wack a doo... and very interesting! fun fun fun (not sure about the sharp line on the right side.. could use a bit of softening or erase.. but that's just IMHO.. great job!

EDIT: GOT IT!! hehehe

author says:

Wow, good catch, Ernie! Thanks, fixed. (Palette must have been covering the edge and the layer had slid over - uploaded late...)

avatar CMYK46
CMYK46 says:

Good mood. Beams are at the wrong angle. See top edge of engine for correct perspective. To me it looks more like a motion blur as if the train were going backwards.

author says:

Thanks for the nudge, Bob, I was wrestling with those beams. This time I've duped the layer and blurred them, and widened at the right side. Looks better I think.

I can't make out the sink at all, it's too vague and/or transparent.

avatar lchappell

Down in the southern part of the United States, we call a low spot a sink. And on a grander scale a "sink hole. in other words a sink is a catch basin for liquids. Now that wayfarer certainly looks like she is vaporizing into the sink hole. After looking at the source links the author has for damn sure used parts from TWO sinks.

The lettering looks "wobbly" and artificial, but nice color aging of the photo. I like the AstroTurf background!

author says:

Thanks - I hate the lettering - I'll get rid of it - thanks for your help

avatar spaceranger

That is one very cute young lady! A simple composition yet a definite retro feeling! I agree, the AstroTurf is very effective.

i don`t know how do i think to come back here, honestly i feel so tired,i shouldn`t have to go back,i should know this place is not for me,i might go back just because i started to love this place.this is the third time when i had to start everything from scratch,my work for the contest is rejected, yeah i know it`s my fault,i don’t follow the rules here,It doesn`t mean i accidentally made a mistake…I am a new member here (5 years and 2819 days ago)

Do not worry about the rules too much, Author. I have my works pulled off too PLUS a WARNING. But, at least, I'm thinking that they are do their own job, as I do mine if I were them. I'm happy, my works got pulled out because I'm too damn HOT to handle, am I?

Anyway, best of luck, Author. My only suggestion is the water... it's kinda blurred of some parts. Or smudged too much. That's all. Have a good day!

author says:

thank you Hayato, your nice words make me feel better at this time, maybe I'll be even better if you're willing to be my teacherI did intentionally make blurred on some parts of the water.
have a good day for you too.

If you read the rules, you will hopefully follow them, and your entries will not get pulled.

Nice job on the ship masking BTW.

avatar MossyB
MossyB says:

Missy, have you heard of Google Translate? People the world over use it successfully. Especially since the Rules basics here aren't that complex in language...

the waves look too "big" for a small boat.

suggest make the ship double-size...my personal view, it's up to you

avatar Hayato
Hayato says:

MossyB is right on the strictly manners. I'm the "rulebreaker" in my country, I'm sorry I'm making this statement, but I'm not the lawbreaker.

Ichappell, thanks for your attention to me. About google translate, yes. Especially when it translate from Japan > English then I swap the language. Man... it's messed up! The only way I could learn "Engrish" is from chatting & comments like this through the net.

Aheman is right on the "big" waves but IMHO, make the ship double-size would seems (once again IMHO) break the composition. Try to calm the waves first, then it should be right.

author says:

Thanks MossyB for you good words,ok i see, everything you say is true,i didn`t carefully read the rules, just reading in some parts, and skip the others, that`s my problem.see you,and i hope you have a great time

author says:

Welcome to PXL yeah Bravo Hayato Good Luck to you Ichappell and thanks for your nice comment.;

author says:

Thanks for coming and comment Missy,Hmm i guess so,i certainly will no longer break the rules if the rules existing translation in my language, there are some rules that I dont understand, what does that words mean,i`m not too good in english.

author says:

Aheman ,yes i agree with you,the waves look too big,I'll fix it next time..take care and see you

author says:

Thanks again Hayato,You give a lot of input for me...have a great time..take good care of you

Author,

Keep up the great work!

I believe the hardest part is finding good pictures (with no copyright) and referencing them correctly in your entries!

Most likely that is why many of your past submissions have been pulled. Take a look at a few of the top members of this site... and start by looking at their submissions and how their works are referenced.... even reuse some of the photos they have used!

Welcome my friend and do not be discouraged; Remember always have fun and keep photoshopping,

Woodz

p.s. (edit) Plus I really like the name of this entry and the humor you put into it.

author says:

Woodztockr..thanks a lot for your kindness, for your support, and thank you so much for your suggestionsthis is greatly helped me to know where the pictures are safe to use or otherwise for my entry later .yes of course i love photoshop till the end what have i learned about photoshop still less, the more i learn the more I don`t know
hmm its nice to know you like the name of my entry thank you ; yes I'm happy to be surrounded by humor and I'm not going to let my face become stiff like rocks because loss of a sense of humor..keep smile always.. my friend..see you

good idea -- masking could use some touch up around the hair, and the top of the dress -- the black seems a bit over powering and is not allowing any of the underlying texture to show as it does on the rest of the colours -- different blend mode or adjust the fill and or opacity may help.
