author says: When I was a child I read a story in an Alfred Hitchcock book called "The Man that Sold Rope to the Gnoles" and it scared the bajesus out of me. The salesman tried to get payment by stealing the father gnoles's spare eyes (Gemstones kept in a cabinet)and the family of gnoles went bazerk and ate the salesman. They never really described the gnoles (I'm pretty sure they had tentacles) but I always have them in my head when ever I go into dark rooms, (they live in basements) THANKS!!
