There is a small village near us that is a well-known stop on the "underground railroad." Every year they have ceremonies commemorating the brave people who helped slaves run to safety. This memorial was dedicated in 1880 to the soldiers who died in the Civil War. The four sides have "Charity, Loyalty, Fraternity, and Bravery." It is dedicated to the brave men who died to "preserve the Constitution and end slavery." (5 years and 2573 days ago)

The Lincoln War Memorial in Edinburgh's Old Calton Cemetery erected in 1893. It was built in memory of the Scottish soldiers who fought in the American Civil war. It is said to be the first monument outside of the USA to the American president. (5 years and 2575 days ago)

The Kranji War Cemetery is the final resting place for Allied soldiers who perished during the Battle of Singapore and the subsequent Japanese occupation of the island from 1942–1945 and in other parts of Southeast Asia during World War II.
