This hawk and squirrel encountered each other and sat in a face off only about a yard apart. After what seemed to be a full minute without moving, the squirrel make his move and the bird never had a chance. Not the best settings, but I couldn't move without scaring them away. I'll use the face off in another contest. (5 years and 2673 days ago)

nice Motion Blur
I like this take on the theme. Normally, there would be very little gradient here: sharp grasses and leaves, highly contrasted with a dark pig, but the gradient comes alive because of the life and energy of the whole system. A very creative entry!
I like your comment, I thought is was maybe not the right fit to enter in the contest, but after all it is (in my opinion) a nice gradient.
