I shot with the depth of field but the pattern on the foreground cards when out of focus gave me a headache to look at and i thought everyone would hate it. My hand is OOF so I was hoping that would give it some dof

IMO, your depth is fine. I would have never noticed the 2nd J but I think other hands would have improved the realistic quality of 4 people playing.
