this is an awesome tree. I would definitely mess with the "curves" just a bit to give the photo a bit more definition/contrast.

Yes, give it some auto tone, auto contrast and auto color in Photoshop... I think it should turn out much better.

Aaaahhhh! don't be lazy and use auto, a computer can do an ok job but never as good a you can do yourself with a little practice

Actually, the day after the contest was posted, I had a portrait shoot a few miles away, I went into a dollar store to find a few simple props for a childs photo and found these next to the counter...fate?

Two flash units bounced into umbrellas, apprx 1 meter either side of the camera, and of course a tripod.
