I may be wrong, but I don't care what anyone says. Keep your Ipads and kindles and the rest. There is NOTHING like reading one of THESE classics with a toddler curled up on your lap! This just represents a very small part of our "classics" library! (5 years and 2451 days ago)

Your children/grandchildren are either awfully well behaved or don't' read, these books look far to clean to be loved.

author says:

Well, we have a large collection of children's books, and many are not in as good of shape as these, but if there's one thing we teach in our family it's that books are always to be treated with respect. Something must have taken, as our kids are still voracious readers - while many of their contemporaries rarely read more than the subtitles in a video game.

Nothin like a burger, some french fries and a shake ...and of course, the T'bird. ;)

I really love how the green in the oxidation of the metal made it so green and really stand out. View in high res to see some of the authors and titles that have been memorialized. :-) (5 years and 3140 days ago)

Very cool statue... some great titles in there. But... these aren't books. They are facsimiles of books

author [banned] says:

Kyricom, contest guidelines do not specify they have to be real books. You argument didn't work with the skin affliction contest and it's not going to work here. Besides, if you look at the tie contest:

http://www.pxleyes.com/photography-picture/4c671ec5ab3c8/Look-at-my-tie.html

It's the EXACT same situation.

It says to shoot your best shot "of books." Can't get much more explicit than that. plus, the suggestor even said that only one book would be considered off theme... you'd think ZERO books would be even more off theme.

author [banned] says:

Once again, contest DOES NOT specify REAL books.

avatar FallingHorse

The theme says no shots from libraries and that all else is 'fair game'. IMO that makes this on theme.

author [banned] says:

Fallinghorse, thanks for pointing that out
