Yes, it is a fruit, bright green inside, but not a lot of taste.
Prickly Pear? NO TASTE?!?!?!? ack.. you gotta get one of the red ones that taste like a liquified Jolly Rancher, we used to get them into the Restaurant I worked at and they were reserved only for sauces because the flavor was INSANE... I've never had the yellow ones so I don't know LOL but the red ones will knock you on your butt
