Thanks DW. I suppose you do have a point as it would make the "+" an immediate eye-catcher in its own right, something which nobody notices in a Rubik's Cube; we only see the colors. This would, however, make it too obvious that it's a Rubik's Cube. I was changing the Cube's famous symmetry to create some "tension" between the colors. That may be the reason it "affected" you in some subliminal way? Perfect symmetry would also make it "blase?" Thanks for taking the trouble. Reply »

I have to agree w/ DW here...this would have been awesome as a symmetry shot cropped to square format. the colors are vibrant and appealing though Reply »

Thanks for your comment itsmymoment. Looks like I am out-numbered 2 to 1 : ( I suppose perfect symmetry with the over-powering "+" would make it a strong "masculine" image as each color would "hit" you simultaneously. The image as it stands has a more "feminine" personality. Reply »

As for the colors, (red, green, yellow and blue), whichever combination you chose to have, whether it's side-by-side, diagonally, up and down, or all together, some emotionally satisfying feeling would be generated. For e.g., red and blue would make you think of strength and purpose, yellow and green, nature, yellow and blue the sky, red and green, danger and hope. Reply »

I think this would of been a good "rule breaker" and putting the " + " of the four colors in the middle. good eye for an abstract photo. well done Reply »
