Begin the hat. A few black shapes.

Begin working in glowy bits, change image colour.

Begin the base firework... sketching in some lines, radial zoom blur.

The fun part... making the firework all 'explody'-like. Lots of little dots and glow.

Adding more fireworks to the scene once the initial one was done.

Create some more explody bits from the hat.

Add a bit of colour before the final touches.
