First i sketched my hand and drew it in...basically a lot of dodge and burn and smudge with the paint tool lol.. I actually did the thumb first on a layer and the other fingers and palm on a seperate layer behind that...

made my earth...simply done by using the cloud filter with the foreground as a green and bg in blue, then using distort>spherize at 100%...then messed with the contrast/llevels...so on...

I added the bg swirls by painting wildly with the paintbrush and using radial blur...then i used hue/sat to colorize it... did this on 2 diff layers...one reddish pink and one blue

i then added the objects flying around the earth by using the paint and smudge tools...i did them in white then on the layer above in color, the colored layers i used bevel and emboss on to make them look 3d-ish. After i completed the image i edited the brightness/contrast and did some finishing details..
