I have tried multiple times to submit an entry to the current Mixed Media contest but it keeps having some sort of error because the green check saying my entry has been submitted never shows up. it instead refreshes a blank page with some sort of leather background. I emailed the mods but got no response there so i'm posting here in the forum. The odd part is, that i have successfully submitted an entry into that contest already, so i can not for the life of me figure out why this entry will not submit.

My image is less than 5MB and it is a jpg image.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks!

Jay

Hi Jay,
What do you see if you go on the nav bar to -my stuff- my contest entries-? Are both of your entries there? If the second one is there, click on it and does it say something like "entry not published yet" at the bottom? If it does, there is a button to "publish now". I have no idea about the blank page and leather looking background though, also there was no mail from you in the modmail, can you please check the email address, for the graphics mods it is mods@pxleyes.com
I hope this helps.

Even though it less then 5MB it can still be to big in width x height (we've had that problem before in the last few weeks). So make it smaller and try again.

Madame,
there is not listing of it in my contests, so it stands to reason that there was some type of upload error.

Rob, That could be it!! it is a large image, so i'll try making it a little smaller... should there perhaps be dimension limitations listed on the site as well as the size limitations?

I'll let you guys know if it worked for me!! Thanks!!

Madame,

Under socialize and Contact it lists the email for the mods as seen below.

Photo Mods: photomods AT pxleyes DOT com

that is the email i sent my message to. if this is incorrect, perhaps the site needs updated.

BJ there should be no limitations from the site in width x height but this could be a server thing.

Another thing: it might be better to send a PM to a mod in stead of sending a mail, this is more personal and therefor the chance you get an answer is bigger.

Jay, there are 3 email addresses listed, depending on which mods or the admin you want to contact. Photomods deal with the photo contests, graphic mods with ps, drawing and 3D..... and then there's the boss.... :d

oh. damn that might have been my problem all along.

not to worry i lowered my size to 3000px and it took it. previously it was about 5500px wide... a new question has come up though...

an entry of mine currently has more votes than it does views. (See image below) Now i know that this can be possible when an image is pulled by a Mod, it can retain the votes, but loses the views, so those start over once the image is republished.

this particular entry has not been pulled, so that can't be the cause. Is it due to some members having more votes via their vote power score?

Just curious really. ;j
