I'm not rich by any means...but I would take a 3-4 weekend trip up that way.... thinking of heading up toward south east minnesota with a photography class from school to a weekend thing to take photos of eagles and such over by the mississippi river in wabesha county.

Oh man that is great! I am just off the Mississippi but 5hours north.
You should have a good time with that.
It has been such a mellow winter they may arrive early.
Up here I am trying to capture Nut Hatches in flight. What a frustrating time I am having with those little rockets. They seem to be as fast as Humminbirds and the little suckers are laughing at me out there freezing my ass off.
God I love it so.

Yes sir I have heard of Wabasha and I assume you are planning to go for the spring migration of Eagles in March or possibly the show with Bob Anderson in Feb.
Also last year I watched the hatching of 3 Eaglets in the Decorah Iowa area.
My niece had that cam feed on her computer 24/7.
We were worried of the 3rd one for a time but he made it and I think they are tracking the young ones.

Very cool and you will have an awesome time there.

that site got sooooooo huge it was unbelievible...can't believe they actually had to open up 2 and 3 differnt chat rooms for the page... I bet they made a killing on the advertisement, knowing they were reaching that many ppl... it was deffently the super bowl of the bird world...

i thought it was interesting that there was a huge drop off after the birth...they preferred watching the eggs and not the eaglets. I am guilty along with everyone else, of watching it... used to have it on in the background for hours on end and when i heard the screetch of the returning bird i would watch...

we have one set of nesting parents around here...the pic in the bird contest is from that nest...it is so cool, i can sit about 50-100 ft from the tree and take pics... I go there enough they have got to trust me i guess...and I sit in a 1 man blind...more for me staying out of the elements then anything else.

as for the trip we haven't decided if or when we can go...but anytime would be awesome, the kids would love it and would love an over night stay....just the cost and if the college would go for it... that is big thing. If i get it aranged i'll let ya know and maybe we can meet up there for a short time.

I have heard that... would be cool to get the kids up there, as a lot haven't seen them live...just in others pictures...would love to open up their world so they can get their own pics to share and show off.

now it's snowing here, and feeling more like winter it is really getting me in the mood to go better start making plans.
