Each member, joining ( and existing), must at least supply a name and location!!

So many members are anonymous.......why......what are they frightened of, or are they just here trolling..........

Name and Location is not much to insist on...........ok, there will be those muppets who give false name and location, but most, the genuine ones, will give the right info. Besides, if the mod team want to, they can probably trace the IP to check the location, if they are unsure as to it's authenticity.

It's there........... :-).

What I am saying about is no information at all in the PXL profile........ no name, no location, no email.............nothing.

Some of these muppets just come in to troll.......... they never do anything constructive as far as the site is concerned, no entries or constructive comments. I just think it should be compulsory to at least give a name and location.

I agree as long as the "location" culd be somewhat vague. People don't need to know my street address, or even my village for that matter. There is a distinct difference between saying New York City, and my little village of 2,000. For the U.S. I think identifying the state would be fine, for other countries maybe states, or provinces, identifiable regions etc. People could always get more specific if they desired, but I don't think it should be forced.

I fail to understand why it makes a difference whether or not members choose to disclose personal information. It's the work that counts. Trolling is certainly possible, even likely...but the trolls don't contribute anything, and the creative and productive members usually post at least a bit of their info. Ade, just out of curiosity, why does this bother you?

I think at least a first name and location, eg. state or country and gender. I agree it makes no real difference, but it's nice to have an idea of where people are from, and to know a little more about them.
I guess when people first join, they may not want to give too much information and later they just forget to add it.

I agree with friiskiwi, giving out that type of info isn't enough to really cause any problems. It's nice to have a little bit of an idea of who your talking to. I don't really care about the trollers so much but there are times when I have no clue about an active member. I'm a curious guy by nature and I like to know what region people are from.

Will someone explain what exactly a troller is?
