I have a Canon 650 analog that I really love, but the digital world has come on the scene so with all my lenses being Canon, I will buy another Canon someday.
But it is all in what you can afford and personal preferences.
Keep on shooting. 8-) :YMCOWBOY:

I have only had Nikon, So i only know Nikon.
I originaly choose the d40x because it seemed to win most magasine reviews in budget line dslr guides.
Now i have spent money on lenses and upgrading the body (just 2 days ago,) i doubt i would ever consider swallowing the cost to change brand. :YMSICK:
I dont know why people worry so much about brand names. I doubt there is much difference between them. You get what you pay for at the end of the day and i would have no problems with using a canon for a try out if offered, And if i prefered it..... Who knows :-\
Gota go Full frame one day. :-b

Has anyone here owned both brands? or made the change from one to the other?

Not that I do much in the photography section on the site, but I had (actually still have as it is in the cupboard) a Nikon FE2 with a bunch of lenses so when I went digital I went straight to the D50. I've never had any trouble with my Nikons so I stay with them.

pretty much hit the nail on the head there. i certainly wouldnt fork out to switch brands now iv invested in lenses, flashes etc.

i use a canon 450d at the moment that i intend to upgrade to a 50d before this new years out. plannin on getting the infrared filter removed from the 450d so i can shoot infrared with a normal exposure

Both Canon and Nikon are great! I originally wanted to by myself a Nikon (loved the D90), but before I spent anything, got a Canon for my birthday. So no I'm a Canon girl, no regrets, it's what you get used to :-) Lot's of Canon accessories seem to be the most expensive of all other brands, but... other brand owners find other things to complain about :d

Congrats Kyricom it's a good choice :-BD

I have the K20D and I'm very, very, happy with it. Glad to see that I'm not the only rare bug that use another brand :d

During my argentic period I used a Nikon F301. I still have it and it's always working, but I don't use it anymore).
When I decided to buy a DSLR (about 3 years ago) I wanted to stay with a Nikon and I bought a D40 which was really great ... (It's the one I use now).
I'm really delighted of it, but now I want to upgrade and I'll perhaps buy a Canon EOS7D ...
So I can't vote right now ... I love Nikon but I'm waiting for the good surprises Canon will perhaps bring to me !
