A little about me

You're not used to all the racket in the cockpit uh. Those bells and whistles are a good thing you sure don't want to melt down your engines. Yep it will drive the price up for sure.

Yeah, it was a bit of a trip... He had to shut of about three or four alarms in the process of starting one engine. Like I said I guess you get use to it, but it sure was a trip to me. My partner(co owner) flies a Turbo Prop for a living and says it is SOP but I like the simple start up on the Queen, a little prime, push a button, a little throttle, no drama. I just got back from taking a little 8 year old boy named Mike to Oakland, CA. for an operation on a brain tumor.
On the way I asked him if he wanted to hop in the right seat and help me fly the plane. He sat on his knees and held onto the yolk, and the smile on his face was almost too big for his little head. You would have thought he was at Disneyland instead of going to the hospital to have someone dig around in his brain! Please give a little prayer, to whom ever you pray to, for Mike. And while you're at it drop in a line or two for just a generally better world all around. Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.

About 4-6 weeks I figure I will finish building my ultralight copter. Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.

Ok, that was different then I expected! The thought process went like this; I have had a private certificate for about 12 years, and when I was first taking flight training the learning curve was steep and information overload was a real bear! I mean, you're trying to learn to physically control the aircraft, a lot of which is counter intuitive, so it has to be drilled into your head to make it stick! you are also trying to learning the radio "jargon", and trying to figure out navigation and all the instruments. So it can all be a little overwhelming at first. But, after 12 years, the radio, the instrument scanning, scanning the surrounding sky, navigation (figuring out where in that sky I am), and all that other workload is pretty much second nature. So I figured I could focus a lot more on the controlling the aircraft! So how hard was it going to be to learn to fly a helicopter? Well shit, it's hard! My instructor kept telling me to relax. And I kept telling him I was relaxed! Today my shoulders and neck are killing me! When they say it's like trying to balance on a half inflated beach ball, they ain't crapping ya! But I will be back at it again in a few days! Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.
