I noticed that people are Intentionally giving thumbs down for comments. I have been watching the entries of some artists for a few days. After, I saw that even a 'good luck' is got 'thumb down' (+1 to 0). my comment also got -ve, which turned into +2 to 0
The matter I found is, some members are giving thumbs down, depends on ' the author of the entry'.
It will be a good idea to get that facility back, which was showing the names of people who did 'thumbs up' and 'down'., (with out showing the author's) :-O

Same things here, I feel like somebody just give me a thumb down whenever they see me, maybe just because they don't like me (and I don't feel comfortable when they did that without revealing who they are). I have the same suggestion as Anoop.

Unfortunately I agree, I think a solution (if it can be done), is to make commenters names anonomous until after the contest, or until after the person has voted... just a thought.

This is just the TIP of the ICE BERG, I only picked out some of the highlights but you get my point.

I would not wish this kind of harassment on my worse enemy... but I'm strong (and I have a cute butt =)) I will endure and have fun

The thumbs up thumbs down are a way to vent, I prefer them to evil PMs.

(BUT ANYONE who gives NISHA a Thumbs down, has got the heart of coal)

I'm sure the MODS and/or management are aware of the issue.. it will be resolved soon.. I hopa hopa ----hopa

I think the real solution to this thumbs and comment wars is to return it to the way it was. Let the author be the only one who has the ability to recognize any remarks made on their work. The anonymity of comment voters was never two sided as I remember. When this new up/down thumb system came into effect it was just the person who gave a thumb up who's identity was divulged. I can certainly understand the reason for not having it both ways. If this comment voting situation is going to remain in effect then I think it is a good idea to leave peoples identity out of the equation for it is sure to cause even more strife. I can understand people wanting to help. I have always thought that anyone who makes a suggestion for a correction should also be able and willing to offer a way of making the said correction, not just ride by and point out what they think is wrong. It seems as if with this new way of comment voting, that suddenly it is the new way to go....lets see how much I can point out what is wrong with an entry. What ever happened to good old fashioned encouragement. This is just my opinion, I would like to see it go back to the old way of bronze, silver, and gold thumbs and leave the comment recognition to the author only, it's kind of funny when people are only voting for comments and not the work. ;-)

Couldn't agree more, the old way was much better & people are using the new system as a weapon. When an author "personally" attacks someone for commenting (which is against the rules for most members btw) and the authors friends give that attack several thumbs up is that really fair? It kinda gives me the image of a bully with weasel sidekicks stood behind.
As for comment wars, I think everyone has the right to comment on an entry without getting a full scale personal attack, if the comment is felt to be of foul form then red flag it or explain in a mature manner that you felt the comment was wrong.

Thanks to MrM for the taste of the new system but I would personally be happier with the old one.
