He's right, unfortunately. It just give you an idea who uses the site the most, I guess....

Well I think that reputation points also help us decide which advice is better to take into consideration and which comments to value more, as some commenters who just say "nice" aren't really helpful.
Maybe there are also newbies and beginners who give advice and make you wonder about your chop, while it doesn't need those changes they suggest... But if a member with more RP gives an advice in a comment... it weighs more, I believe. For me, at least.
