People killing, people dying.
Children hurtin'. hear them crying.
Can you practice what you preach.
Or would you turn the other cheek.
Father, father, father help us...send some guidance from above...cause people got me questioning...Where Is the Love?

Beautiful entry! And such a great song Like creativefreedom said: I can feel it ))

author says:

Thankyou...

avatar gotmeamuse

This is KILER! Talk about catching a mood. I listened to video and then had another look at your painting. It saddens me greatly that the song states the problem perfectly and then looks for an answer from some invisible guy in the sky. The answer is found within my friend. When you were painting this I know you could feel exactly what I am talking about. That creative power that is present whenever we are doing something as Artists is something we tap into I believe. It doesnt know a gender or skin color. It recognises no geographical borders or faulty belief system. It just IS. And if all that energy is available and runs through all of us then in my mind we truly are all One.
THAT is why I flat "get off" on encouraging others to pursue art. I am helping others to find what I KNOW to be true.
I babble, but that just means you moved me!
Looking at your painting once more I am saddened. What I see is people all over the world killing eachother in the name of "God" and then looking to that same "God" for answers. If there is such a thing as evil then surely that scenario qualifys.
Man, Im gonna get a lot of crap for this I am sure but I am sure it will be worth it to the extent you have moved me Author.WTG! THAT is what Art is all about.

author says:

Thanks for your comment Gotmeamuse...I wont give you crap...we all have our views in life....Well...we agree to an extent...but I do have a wonderful relationship with God and I live with a peace that passes all understanding. I know it comes from within....I believe God created us to seek that Truth and we have the beautiful creative gifts to use such as in our artwork...I respect your passion and I hope you respect mine...It is what I know to be true and real for my own life. ....but the Love is when one makes a difference in a hurting persons life...we all have a choice to Love.

avatar gotmeamuse

AMEN!

avatar jadedink
jadedink says:

Wow! Yet again you surprise me! Such a bold choice of color! Your use of red is fantastic.
I love how music and art really inspire each other...the way each person views lyrics and puts them to an image....and its ironic that faith was brought into this because my first thoughts were of the incredible political vibe I got from it right away. They say politics and religion are 2 subjects that cause the most debate...and most people find it taboo to speak of either with even their closest friends. You managed to cross that barrier. And most gracefully I might add.
Acrylic?

author says:

Thankyou Jadedink....it is great to hear what people see in others work...and yes it is acrylic.

Thank you for all the kind reactions, always appreciated.
@Ressiv: I should have put more detail in the standing creature, have to admit. But I simply didnt have the time that I'd have liked to spend on it. For possible future entries I should start earlier, maybe then it'll be better...
Again, thanks all!

Where is my Innocence?

This sketch depicts the confused state of a girl's mind - unable to identify herself as a child or a teen (adolescence) and just for this reason I made her to look a bit mature. Materials used HB pencils, water colour & cotton for blending. (5 years and 3344 days ago)

Thank you langstrum, I wanted her to look mature because my sketch depicts the confused state of a girl's mind - unable to identify herself as a child or a teen (adolescence). She learns that she lost her innocence & this is the reason for her to cry.
