I love this idea
. Maybe if you make a gradual transition between day and night, this could be more harmony. Also the eyes need more contrast, let make them the center of your image. Good luck, author 
Suggested changes made - how about now?
It's better because the space between the two faces are not blank now. However, what I suggested is you can make the wide gradient on the line between day and night. The sudden change from night to day just separate them. Anyway, just IMO
. Keep practicing, you will be much better
