I've create a new smoke instead of the brush.. I use a black background and draw white lines.. a lot of liquify, motion blur, liquify, fade liquify, blur, other lines, multiply and wrap the leayer with different blends...inverse the final result , put in place and set the layer to multiply mode (3 years and 24 days ago)

for the picture, just draw a grey rectangle, and draw a face using, dodge, burn, and smudge, I add a white frame... I use polygonal lasso tool to "tear" the picture.. add some shadows, and highlights... Quite simple... Reply »
