The Stellar Project: Animated Photography by Ignacio Torres – with Interview
Ignacio Torres is a young photographer that has recently become incredibly famous, due to his proven originality and talent. His project “Stellar” bring together human and cosmic space, into some really awesome 3D images.
The following showcase brings in the spotlight two of the major projects Ignacio created: the famous “Stellar” and “Creatures of the Night”. The latest combines the beauty of women with the mysteries of the night to create a powerful effect of creepiness and at the same time of intrigue and interest.
We will also get to know Ignacio better and find out some “behind the scenes”, from the exclusive interview he was kind enough to give for us.
Q: Hello Ignacio and welcome to pxleyes.com community. We are very pleased to have you here. Please tell us a few things about yourself.

Q: Your project “STELLAR” has a great success all over the world. How did you come up with this unique idea?

A:

Q: Your project “STELLAR” has a great success all over the world. How did you come up with this unique idea?
A:
I came up with the idea of “Stellar” after taking an astronomy class in college.
I watch a great deal of documentaries and that also contributed to the idea of making a project on our origin.

Q: Do you work alone or with a team?
A:
I usually work alone. When choosing models I normally ask my friends. I believe that having that comfort level of shooting with your friends creates a more real and dynamic photos.
It immediately removes the awkwardness you might otherwise get from someone you might not know.

Q: What kind of photographic gear and computer software do you use?
A:
I usually shoot film and use programs such as a Bridge and Photoshop. My equipment is far from fancy.

Q: What are your plans for the future? Any special projects coming up?
A:
For the future I’m working on several commercial projects. I’ve had so many good opportunities due to the success of my latest work.

Q: What does it take to be “you – the artist”?
A:
It takes whole lot of patience and alone time. I spend much of my time thinking of ideas or gathering my thoughts. I feel it is more crucial now that I live in New York.
