100. A Forgotten Age…

Contest goal:
Derelict buildings make great photographic subjects. Enter your artistic images of old falling down properties, inside or out but remember to wear a hard hat!

99. Chrysler Building

Contest goal:
The purpose in this contest is to photograph a subject which looks deformed. The deformation has to be accomplished by holding for example a glass in front of the lens or shooting your object via a reflecting surface which isn’t flat. Using special lenses and (Photoshop-)filters is not allowed. Your subject can be anything you want, an object, a landscape, a person… and so on.

Been to China, Machu Picchu or visited the Eifeltower… astonish us with your best shots. Sunsets are off theme, tell us where you’ve been to take the shot.

97. Growing Tall

Contest goal:
Take photos of anything you want, but the view must be looking up. Some tips I found online: – Squat down and tilt your camera up towards your subject. – Lay on your back directly beneath your subject. – If you’re comfortably positioned in a chair, don’t get up; just angle the camera up and snap away. So instead of photographing a person looking up (like in the looking up contest), take a shot of an upwards view.

Contest goal:
The cropping of a photo can have a dramatic affect on it’s quality, sometimes making the difference between a snapshot and a work of art. In this contest, perform a “close crop” on a subject of your choice. In a typical picture, we would see 100% of the subject. In this close crop, at least 40% of the subject (but maybe more) should be out of frame.

So have a look if you can find a small and long or high object and turn it into a panorama shot which is made out of at least 3 photos. You must post the separate photos in the SBS. Sounds easy? You’ll be surprised! Have fun.
