Top 50 Photos from the Pxleyes Photography Contests of November 2010

Another month of thrilling photography contests has ended! We’ve collected the 50 highest scoring entries from the Pxleyes photography contests that were active during the month November 2010… This list is ranked by the final scores of the entries.
The most spectacular pictures were submitted in the bridges, chrome, still life, prickly and rust contest. Contest goal:
Chrome has been around us for a long time. It’s actually used to protect against corrosion as well as trimming cars and anything else metal that chromium can be electroplated to! Its solid Mercury look, reflects, and mirrors what’s around it! It has an old fashion look to it, while being futuristic. Your mission is to see if you can get more out of your picture than what chrome would already do for it! Don’t just take a photo of something chrome plated. Contest goal:

Among the oldest elements on the planet, rocks have been used for everything from architecture, to weapons, to jewelry, to pavement, to… Enter creative shots of rocks. They may range in size from pebbles to boulders, but should be separate from the land itself (so don’t just show the face of a cliff). It should also be a shot of the rock, not a finished product. In this contest, shoot a subject that is in focus surrounded by other subject matter that is out of focus by means of motion blur. This is like the bokeh contest, but instead of a defocused background, you must portray movement in the surroundings by means of motion blur. 7. Restrained


Contest goal:
Enter your best photos of locks. When I mean locks, I mean the mechanism designed to keep something in place, i.e. Padlock, door lock, etc. Also all locks usually have some kind of combination or key. Other types of locks, such as salmon or hair, for instance, will be off theme. Oh and even though he thinks he’s quite handsome, pictures of Locksmagic will be considered off theme as well 🙂
