49. paint

Contest goal:
We have loads of them on our computers: our icons, which represent some application or program. A lot were designed to mimic real objects as reference. For example, a VLC Media player icon is a traffic cone, a notepad icon is, well, a notepad. The theme for this contest is to take a photograph of the real world objects which remind you of an icon on your computer. Let us know in the description what software or application the icon represents on the computer. Good Luck!

48. Electric City

Contest goal:
Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years, but the harnessing of electricity was a main step in making our lives significantly easier. For this contest, anything with a power cord or is battery powered will be on theme. Just using a cord is not enough though, it must be POWERED by electricity. So, for example, just showing speakers (by themselves) would be off theme, even though they use cords. Show us an artistic shot of a TV, a lamp, computer… No humans and animals are allowed in your shot.

Even if the game is homemade, it’s on theme. The only catch is there must be game parts (game board, player pieces, dice, markers, etc.) and not something like charades. Have fun and good luck!

5. surprise!!

Contest goal:
Take a plain cardboard box, which is just open on top (don’t make extra holes in it), and put one or more items in it. You can decorate the box on the inside or not and – or create a scene in the box using any items you want. If you want to make a magical fairyland, you can. If you want to make it commercial presentation for a product, that’s also possible. Whatever you want, goes. You do not have to use the box with the open side standing up, it is also allowed to put it on the side. Just 2 catches: it has to be clear it is in a cardboard box, and you cannot use the original item which came in that box (so do not photograph your new camera which is still in the box).
