Maybe you idiots should research before accusing an artist of photoshopping. If you think people cannot draw this well, you thought wrong. Just because you, yourself, cannot do it and you would have to be lazy and resort to cheating in photoshop, does not mean others are talentless and lazy like you.

  42. vwe says:

it really pisses me off at how so many stupid people who don’t MAKE art see things on the internet and instantly say something is photoshopped. just because YOU do not have that talent doesn’t mean OTHER people don’t

what do you think people did before photoshop retards… yeah, like the poster said they DREW/PAINTED/ETC and these are clearly examples of DRAWN pieces of art that look real. all of them except one are clearly drawn with pencil.

The Jessica Biel one is the only one that I would say may have been photoshopped enhanced, since the background is a stark white. most pencil drawings, as you can note in most of them, have some shades of grey in the background.

really though. i’m tired of stupid ignorant people saying “photoshopped” to everything on the internet. if you don’t believe it don’t bother posting. your idiot comments only make you look dumb.

  44. Bobby says:

Why only draw only females, there great, but why not any males? I understand females are more attractive for you draw, but would it hurt to have a male in at least one. I’m sure you could include the both in a nice joint photo. But I guess everyone other loser already dreams about their perfect romance, so why draw it? My closing points, just draw/ sketch something other than all close up faces of only females. In addition they are really life like, but because life is in color you could use some pastel or color medium. It’s easy to draw a full face on a whole canvas. So draw a body shot and try to include both genders next time you use your amazing talents.

    ( 1 year and 237 days ago )
  45. Anonymous says:

bobby, females are drawn more often because their faces [especially famous faces, after all the airbrushing in their photos] are physically easier to draw. they tend to be softer, more curved, and have fewer hard lines, which is why people tend to also draw younger women. more lines in a face leave more shadows, which are the hardest part to recreate convincingly in a drawing. so it makes sense that even the most experienced artists tend to stick with drawing young females, but i do agreed and wish that this wasnt the case. as an artist myself i find it hard to adventure away from the familiar female portrait, but i would like to experiment more with the very young, very old, and male face as well. it will be an interesting challenge

    ( 1 year and 237 days ago )
  46. Corina Lara says:

I would LOOOOOVE to be drawn like this. I would love to have such an accurate and realistic portrait to show to family & friends. Does anyone know if she sells these…like if she’d make one for me?
Absolutely talented. I wish I was gifted.

  47. lilypad says:

i love the technique but i’m sure that you use pictures. you should try and expand your creativity and create your own compositions and apply your technique to them .

  48. T-Man says:

Yucky! Anyone can trace from a magazine!! Most of these look like they were done done by a high school student who just figured out what shading is! Flat, crappy bubble-gum poo! Except for Dirk Dzimirsky I hate them all! Actually I also hate Dirk’s ones too, but just because he claims his name is Dirk!

    ( 1 year and 234 days ago )

  50. anonymous says:

    Hi
You artists there think you might be able to pull off something this realistic with a normal #2 hb pencil only, or will you need some darker and lighter pencils(9h-9B)

  52. Brandypoo says:

The one of Jessica Biel was the best. Not only was the artist very talented and technically perfect, but they managed to capture her perfectly. She’s fiesty and beautiful, and sassy. The artist captured the actress’ soul in the drawing. Way to go.

All of you saying these are ‘shopped or “obviously by high school students who have just learned to shade” need to give your heads a good fucking shake against a wall. I’m a portrait artist, I’ve been drawing my whole life, and this is all very incredible, beautiful work. If you think this is easy, try doing it and tell me how far you fucking get. If you think these are ‘shopped, then for the love of god get the fuck away from your computer, go to your nearest art gallery and EDUCATE YOURSELF.

  69. Lorne says:

When I see a actor call themselves an “artist”, I think, how can they compare themselves to sculptors, or great artists like the person who did these drawings. The drawings are incredible.

Acting is a craft, a great craft granted, but the stuff on this site is art.

I have bookmarked this site so I can spend enough time enjoying each one, when I have the time. The quality is insane.

    ( 1 year and 143 days ago )
  70. Angela says:

First of all let me just say how amazing these drawings are. Simply breath taking! As an artist I know just how difficult it is to capture the true likeness of a person, not just their nose or eyes but the essence of them in the artwork. This is a wonderful comllection. Secondly I feel compelled to mention that Photoshop wont make an ugly or poorly drawn work lovely with a simple click of a mouse. People that think so have obviously never produced any artwork of substance. If you are not a skilled artist it will show, even if it is photoshoped. Thirdly to those of us who are working with photoshop and other paint programs, I do understand how difficult it is to master the software, it’s a brand new media that one must learn just like oil paints or graphite. Just because a computer is involved doesn’t mean it was easy or that these artists are tallentless hacks. Shame on those who are jealous and refuse to accept that others are more skilled than they are. I intend to show these drawings to my students with the hopes that I might inspire them to aspire to this level of greatness.

    ( 1 year and 70 days ago )
  75. luff says:

If they were supposedly photoshopped a few of them would not be slightly off. You can get paper THIS white, and it could have been made in a shop program to look this nice, but from scratch. Obviously you’re not observing these close enough. P.S. My friend has the same talent and can do this, if not better by hand.

    ( 1 year and 50 days ago )
  76. Julia says:

Well, dang. I thought I was pretty swell at drawing.
    But you’re amazing.
    Honestly, you are an insparation.

    ( 1 year and 44 days ago )
  77. JB says:

I don’t really care for any of these drawings; I agree with another viewer who said they look like high school drawings. They’re boring, you use one technique and don’t bother challenging it. Wow, so you learned to blend, so what? Where’s the personality in these drawings? Where’s you? What am I supposed to take from a picture of Angelina Jolie? That she’s pretty? That’s about all I get from these images: that they’re “pretty.” I could just as well look at a magazine and tell you that.
You should start working from your own imagery and not from photographs from the internet, designing your own compositions. That would show me a lot more skill than copying directly from a photograph, which is rather lazy and unprofessional.
And what does working from these photographs really tell me about you? That you read a lot of magazines and watch E news? Other than that, nothing.
Also start using different techniques, such as cross hatch, cross contour, parallel hatching as well as blending. Look at artists like Ingres, Degas, and Leonardo Da Vinci and see how they combine different techniques to create fantastic drawings.
There are tons of poorly trained artists who can work like this on any street corner of any city, and they’re only selling for like $30. Do you really want to sell alongside them?

  82. Clint says:

Noses, and nostils in particular, seem to be a weakness for most artists. Without a second glance, the portraits look impeccable, however, the noses get my attention every time. The hair is incredible, and I am in awe at the technique. Excellent drawings, they’re all really talented.

  87. JC says:

Facile imitation. So what. There’s no thought, no advancement of our understanding of the ‘sitters’. This is simplistic, shallow and naive work with no substance. Is it art? I doubt it.

  88. person says:

its hard to believe someone drew these… is this for real?

  89. EVILBALL says:

Soul Catcher is a photograph. I know it is because I’ve seen the original. I suspect several of the others are photos as well.

For the most however, these are truly stunning. I had to do a project like these for finals in a drawing class a while back. I put in over 40 hrs of work on it and it didn’t come out anywhere near as good as some of these.

These drawing are beautiful and so realistic. I like the “Halle-Up Close” one just to name one of my favorites! This takes a lot of patience for details. You are extremely talented. I like to do a person(face) as well once in a while but I could not compare it to these. What kind of pencils do you use! They are all great!

@Brandx: Dzimirsky is a artist which uses pencils and pastells, before judging on how it’s done make some research on google or go to his website http://www.dzimirsky.com where you’ll see some works in progress.
His drawings are so very realistic you could doubt about it if it’s made with PS, but he’s a true artist and he even don’t use PS on the pictures of his drawings.

  100. Mhhmm says:

Omg they are …terrible. As an art student I can’t just ignore all the messed up proportions, perspective and anatomy in these works. Sure some were fine but most of them are really, really off. That usually happens when artists just draw from photographies and not from real life. Most of these authors don’t have good enough knowledge to see the mistakes they are making and I would really advice them to study more from real life rather then photos.
