Nice color & mood, but what are the screen door things?
(190 days ago)I like flowers. Rose is one of my favorites. I have some growing in the garden.
There is where I got the idea of making a drawing of a rose first, then fill the
outlines with color. I tried Illustrator, but I think PS worked much better.
I used the smudge tool, as I have done in some of my works, and the blending
is amazing.
The sky and landscape are beautiful, thanks to Lelaina, from Stock pics here at
pxleyes. I got this idea, as the teepee needed some color, so, I decided to do
this.
Nice color & mood, but what are the screen door things?
(190 days ago)Ups! I sent the one with the doors.... Will post the other one without doors and the SBS, I am having problems loading them. But I will post SBS if this computer let me do it!!! lol
(190 days ago)Author, this is much better! As a co-maker of several teepees I can tell you that no matter what the shape of the door opening, it is closed by internal flaps. Good luck, this pic looks great now.

very nice, very nice, i cant tell whos gonna win anymore.. i do know theres quite a few in the race for the first place here im so glad im not the only one to vote here.. i wouldnt be able to determines who wins just alone o.o;

Beautiful job!
(190 days ago)beautiful
(190 days ago)great lighitng nice overall look
(190 days ago)Looks perfect and you got the shaows right too. Good job
wow
(190 days ago)wow.. very well done!
(190 days ago)Love it, great mood and colors! Only problem I see are the shadows. They should all have the same direction, but the shadow of the left and middle tent point into a different direction than the one on the right. Since the sun is far away, the shadows cannot have different directions. It's not a matter where you stand. If you would move to the left, so the sun would be behind that tent, the shadows wouldn't move but still show the same way. Hope you understand what I mean. Great job, anyhow.
Lovely!!
(190 days ago)GREAT!! beautiful
Thank you for your comments. Good luck to you too!!!!!!
(190 days ago)Awesome pic!
(189 days ago)Great mood and looks so realistic!

(187 days ago)hey congrats for 2nd place..
(187 days ago)Congratulations

Congrats!!!!!!!
(187 days ago)Congrats! Wonderful mood!
(186 days ago)I got the idea of making a kind of hand crafted art store where pottery made
from a "blue cow" is sold. No outside images used in the making of
Souvenirs In Blue, just the image provided by pxleyes. (Thanks Robvdn, nice
image to work with)
Great entry
very good job... like real...
Beautiful entry
(225 days ago)very nice! i like it a lot
(225 days ago)talk about moorcroft.. great play on th sorce
super idea!
(225 days ago)Really good job except for the balls in the front...shadows need adjusting.
(225 days ago)This is such a great image because the cow itself is a sculpture. Plates and cups are just mini sculptures. So the cow's body just translates so well into cups and plates. Excellent idea!
(225 days ago)Beautiful job my kinda entry lovin it, yes tweek on those shadows just a tad and you'll have a real nice one for sure
Oh and by the way the tutorial is top shelf work also
Very awesome overall! The shadows on the upright plate on the top shelf make it look more like a ring with a rotating disk inside it. The balls on the bottom plate [where did the gray come from?] look like they're floating (and I think painting those pure accessories in the cow design--except for the brown front [which I like otherwise] of the front ball for some reason--might be too much). I admit I'm not real fond of the blue drapery background which seems too formal with folk art, but that's probably very minor point.
(225 days ago)Thank you for comments, I will check the shadows..... Dan..the gray color of the plate is a Hue and Saturation with a color balance added to it!
(225 days ago)the entry is awesome!
(225 days ago)Adjusted the shadows under balls in the front. Comments very appreciated, thank you
(225 days ago)clever idea & good work
GL

Nice Job!
(143 days ago)Looks nice, but i think you should try matching the colours of the pods to the rest of the image.
your source links aren't working for me, but it may just be me.
EDIT: Haha don't worry, i do it too xD Great change, the pods fit in much better now! Good luck
very nice.gl

Congrats! Way to go!
(138 days ago)Sorry guys, it is hard for me to pronounce the name of this beautiful flower.
We got some long ago, different colors and shapes, and wanted to share a photo
and a drawing of one of them.
This drawing was done using a felt pen.
great Job (I love the old illustration feel.. like the movie Angels and Insects)
Ep`i`phyl´lum
(Pronounced...EP EEE FILE LUM) hehehe (easier to just say Cactus Flower)
Superb job author! Some soft shadows on the flowers will help! GL
WOWZER!!! This would look killer colorized using the same media.
Personally, I think the starkness of the black and white makes it such a great drawing, well done author.
(179 days ago)very nice
Thank you for your comments and sugestions.... Well, as Golem says, it is easy to say "Cactus Flower"... Thanks Golem!!
(179 days ago)And also congrats for your third place!

(184 days ago)Thank you CMYK... the stuff on top are kind of plants or whatever grows in that imaginary world.

Spectacular use of the source. Really work!
(184 days ago)the only thing i can think of that would improve this is frame it and hang on the living room wall...beautiful piece of work here..very impressive

Thank you for your good wishes and congrats.... you all did pretty good!!!! (Cornelia, I got the idea for the plants from your tips in using the Transform tool......!!! )
(179 days ago)Using that silvery shiny surface game the idea of creating this imaginary bird.
No other sources were used in its making, just the image provided by pxleyes for
the contest....everything is PS
Wow! Great use of source! I love entries like these!! Good luck
great entry! i love this image its very cool!
(227 days ago)I think we have a winner !!!!
...grate job author
Wonderful creation I love the bird and I know it was hard work, but I had to look at your sbs to see where you put the source to use. Other than that wonderful image.
(227 days ago)Thank you for comments, yes, it was a hard time to get the bird all together.
(227 days ago)Very nice work.
this is what i call true art... very nice...
(226 days ago)very artistic. love the blue hues and lighting in this creation. well done
(226 days ago)my problem is: could you have made this with ANY other source? I think the answer is yes and therefor the use of the source is weak. If you've set the brush to scatter there wouldn't be that repetative pattern in the leaves. In other words: not my piece of cake
Sorry...
well done
(226 days ago)Thanks for comments again.... Robvdn don't be sorry.... it is the way it is, the source image does not have many objects to work with. Could I have done this work using other sources? Yes! I could. But the main thing here is that I used the image source in part. As many of us do. I just got this idea, we are here to learn, to appreciate constructive and non-constructive commnents and suggestions.... It is like Art, some like Picasso...some don't.... I am happy with what I have done here at the contests, and again, thank all of you for critics and comments. Good luck to everyone!!!!
Author let me be clear: I wasn't judging your image, just the use of source. You are right about we're here to learn and we all have different tasts. If something like this would have been posted in a theme contest you would have gotten a complete different comment by me
Just my personal view, hope you're not offended. Didn't mean to.
I like the way u made the tree :P really nice
Although the image is well done, I believe the use of source is very poor. This could have been made with anything and the source is not recognizable in any way. These type of entries belong in theme contests, not source contests.
(226 days ago)Excellent! i love this one
Comments appreciated. Robvdn: Not offended at all. I just accept your comment. Solkee, I will pay attention to Theme contests in the future, you are right, I should have used more of the image source, although I did not have much to choose from it!
(226 days ago)very nice
love the entry and the result but you could of done this with any source as far as i thought the original source needs to be vissible... its not in my opinion..
(225 days ago)Congratulations on the top-three place!
Congrats for your second place, George!
(222 days ago)Thank you Cornelia, Lelaina. It was a nice challenge and good entries all!
(222 days ago)congrats

(222 days ago)congrats!
(222 days ago)congrats!!
(222 days ago)Congrats!!
(222 days ago)Congratulations for 2nd
(221 days ago)The image for the background was done by me, using apohysis a 3D flames render
program. The rest is the image source and PS
Thanks for comments.... blurred the shadows.....!
..stunning. Good job!
(238 days ago)Loving this... so beautiful, i can't stop looking at it, amazing!
(238 days ago)looks really good, i like the background and the trees
the shadows needs to be improved. looks like another shadow, and it is to sharp in my eyes. good idea
its beautiful and so amazing!!..supercool...
(238 days ago)Great image, just blur the shadows...
(238 days ago)Amazing!!
(238 days ago)nice work!!! (i love surreal stuff)
yep, blur the shadows so they fade off the edge and then it will be perfection!
(238 days ago)sweet!!!!
(238 days ago)Looks great
(238 days ago)Fabulous colours first class work!
(238 days ago)Thank you all for comments and suggestions.... shadows blurred!
(238 days ago)looks like you´ve used a motion blur on the shadow. PLEASE let me Fav this too. So, merge your trees as a copy, turn them to black. transform it to perspektiv. to blurr them, use a small gausian, or, better, use the blurrtool and soften them at the tree just a lil, and to the viewers point more. the hard shadows at the tree in the first post looked better. try to go from thouse hardness to a blurr the farer it gets away. hope you get what i mean, sometimes i talk around corners i think
Solaris, thank you for your help. yes, I did a motion blur... I will try the gaussian blur ...I do not think it looks to bad the way it is... but let me do what you say...just in the front shadows.... Update: Used the gaussian blur.... thanks
wow pretty darn cool

Amazing work author

(234 days ago)Only used the source image provided by pxleyes.
Nice work, lots of detail and very good use of source
GL!
This is very nice work, but is there a source for the bkgd? It would be good to include some descriptions in the sbs, especially if you made the bkgd. Do they come with emeralds?
Sweet job, good luck...not much else to do with this source.
Thank you for comments....Pearlie: Check Step 13, I made the background, and no, they do not come with Emeralds. The Emeralds are circular selections, filled with a layer style....!
(25 days ago)Intricate looking piece good luck
lovely!!
(24 days ago)nice job...good luck author

Image of the Cliffs, thanks to CMYK46, from pxleyes stock.

(180 days ago)WTG!!! what a beautiful painting!!!! inspiring
(180 days ago)its so beautiful,amazing work
(180 days ago)This IS beautiful and amazing!
(180 days ago)curious.....is smudge allowed in the drawing contests? The rules for the drawing are not real clear, especially when the rules and guidelines say one thing and the contest says another ie: basic adjustments.
(180 days ago)Wow...that's amazing!

(180 days ago)Hello all, thanks for comments. K5683. Well, I read the guidelines and rules, and it does not say anything about "not" using the smudge tool. If you check the other entries, there are some with color, and watercolors. What I did different here, is adding more detail to my original drawing. Check (SBS) please. Thank you for your comment.
(180 days ago)while very nicely done, you changed the art form from drawing to painting, the drawing no longer shows in the finished image, which I thought the contest called for - Drawing
(180 days ago)very nice, it almost looks like its coming out of the screen.
(180 days ago)The shadings, color and lighting are all beautifully done! Talented drawing skills, author!
(180 days ago)wow ........very beautiful
