wow very nice, just holding off the vote, waiting for the step by step
Sorry, I was having problems with the computer and loading the SBS. Here they are one by one.
Very nice image -- great use of source
very nie work author i wish the fishes would have a lil difference in texture but you did a great job there
Eladine....Sorry I do not have time to make changes. Getting busy for Christmas. But I agree with you. Thanks for comments.
Alan: Thank you!
Very nice entry, good luck!
Very imaginative, author! Almost went for a career in marine science, agree with your thoughts.
Fantastic job. Beautifull fish and nice work on the plants.
Great job! I l really like the color...that it's not too saturated. Especially being underwater.
well done!
Congrats George
lovely work
Thank you.....
Congratulations!
Congrats, George on 1st place!
Congrats, George!
Great big congratulations my friend well done!
Congrats, my friend, great work again
Thanks for your encouraging comments.
Beautiful work... congratulations!
Selections, fills, filters, Transform tool, Dodge / Burn, Liquify - warp. Some of the suggested elements for this contest. No brush or painting used at all. Just an old PS program that I still have.
Anemonae desaturated and lowered brightness.
Fish, one of them, burned more lines to make it different from the other. (186 days ago)

Thanks Driven......!
Very nice work.
Very cool! The two magenta anemone-like things stand out too much, IMO, plus the two fish seem like perfect clones (which they are!). Shifting the eye of one of the fish would be more realistic.
Fantastic scene author, great shapes and its obvious that u invest loads of work to create all this cool elements. I remember when i created one underwater scene i was not happy with it cause in my eyes it looked to flat, u don't have that problem cause u created very cool DOF but maybe u could same thing that i did and to see how it goes. I created one blue/green layer, changed opacity to overlay and played up with plastic wrap filter. At the end i liked result so much. Any how this is so cool image and i wish u best of luck author...
Thanks Eration, Dan. I changed the saturation / brightness of the anemonae. Made the fish kinda different. It is hard, just thinking of NOT using the brush tool to paint, but we have lots of filters and other tools to work with.

Truly impressive work, author! Love it.
Perfect, author!
Too much repetition and not much depth. Good idea otherwise...GL author.
Wow... Great work author..
Really Superb idea & Great Presentation
All the best author
Great job author,good luck

Thanks to mqtrf from pxleyes, for the pic of the wall, to grafixar from morguefile for the pic of the dino eye, and to ppdigital also from morguefile for the pic of the texture for the foreground. The rest is the result of using the image source. (86 days ago)

Great work!
Thanks Ichappell........
The rendering is very nice but there is a little problem with the perspective of the cylinder. The ellipses should be a little flatter at the top and get more rounded as you go further below eye level. You can find several links with google to help, this one will show you the basic perspective: http://www.artyfactory.com/perspective_drawing/perspective_7.htm
As I said the rendering is good, if you could tweak the perspective IMO it would make it even better.
This entry is very nice, original and well done.
You can improove it by adding a better ( more dark and long) shadow at the base of the cylinder.
Nicely done!!
Wonderful execution, but there's something about it that I can't get to believe it's "inside" the container. Might be the perspective or the non-blurriness of the creature behind water. Good luck
Thank you for comments. Spaceranger: I worked on the perspective of the top ellipses. Tempora: worked on the shadow, and nbaztec: I think the creature looks it is "inside" the water. Thanks anyway.
Excellent tweaking author! Perspective looks much better and the darkening of the shadow adds more drama! The creature looks fine to me, definitely looks inside the container.
Don't get me wrong author, the creature looks well inside, but not like a solid object inside water, I still can't figure out why? The container looks stunningly superb! Excellent job on the container & the SBS.
Above all just ignore me & enjoy a job well done.
@Spaceranger: Thank you for your tips and all your help!!!!
@nbaztec: Hey, my friend. I had the same problem when I did the filters and the blending for the creature. Nothing wrong with your comment, I really appreciate your time looking at my work.
very cool and fun author.. very good look
lizards in jars.. IT'S THE MATRIX! giggle snort
Very creative work, author, good construction of the lizard creature especially!
Thanks Driven, pearlie..... comments appreciated.
Congrats George nicely done!!
Thanks Spaceranger..... (Also, thanks for suggestions)
Congrats George
Congrats, George!
The sky and landscape are beautiful, thanks to Lelaina, from Stock pics here at pxleyes. I got this idea, as the teepee needed some color, so, I decided to do this. (2 years and 154 days ago)

Nice color & mood, but what are the screen door things?
Ups! I sent the one with the doors.... Will post the other one without doors and the SBS, I am having problems loading them. But I will post SBS if this computer let me do it!!! lol
Author, this is much better! As a co-maker of several teepees I can tell you that no matter what the shape of the door opening, it is closed by internal flaps. Good luck, this pic looks great now.

very nice, very nice, i cant tell whos gonna win anymore.. i do know theres quite a few in the race for the first place here im so glad im not the only one to vote here.. i wouldnt be able to determines who wins just alone o.o;
Wonderful mood and effect, gives me a relaxing feeling
nice colors
good job
great effect with the coloring...very nice
Aaaah
Thank you for using my pictures for this lovely scene! The mood is really really great
Good luck!
Beautiful job!
beautiful
great lighitng nice overall look
Looks perfect and you got the shaows right too. Good job
wow
wow.. very well done!
Love it, great mood and colors! Only problem I see are the shadows. They should all have the same direction, but the shadow of the left and middle tent point into a different direction than the one on the right. Since the sun is far away, the shadows cannot have different directions. It's not a matter where you stand. If you would move to the left, so the sun would be behind that tent, the shadows wouldn't move but still show the same way. Hope you understand what I mean. Great job, anyhow.
Lovely!!
GREAT!! beautiful
Thank you for your comments. Good luck to you too!!!!!!
Awesome pic!
Great mood and looks so realistic!
Very nice blending and color.
This is a beautiful image. Well done!
The lighting is incredible! A very beautiful image

Congratulations for 2nd
Thank you for your good wishes... and congrats. This winning 2nd, belongs to Lelaina and the source image author too. I just adjusted the pictures, but she was the author of them.

Congratulations on second place. I really love this image.

Congrats! Wonderful mood!
Thanks to Mirabbi, luisrock62, from morguefile, and our lovely Lelaina from Pxleyes, for sharing the pics used in this entry. The rest is just Photoshop and lots of patience.
UPDATE: Enlarged shadows, lower opacity, desaturated wagon and field. Thanks for suggestions. (203 days ago)

Nice work here...especially good shadow on the wagon...GL author! ![]()
Fabulous, well blended fantastic pitoresque mood!
lovely
nice
Thanks for comments....... and support!
lovely work great shadows and contrast between lights and dark.
like the colors............the sunrise
gives a sense of hope in a bleak surrounding
Appealing orange scene. The extremely low sun on the horizon would seem to suggest much longer shadows, however, to the extent that the wagon should be just to the right side of the tree's shadow. And certainly the bed of the wagon would be shaded. (More shadows would add more drama. Also, with the low sun, I would experiment with slightly less saturation of the ground.)
I really like this picture and your treatment. My only suggestion is that the shadow of the tree is a little too dark and I would use the size slider to make it a little more diffuse...oh and I might turn the shadow into a layer to manipulate/tweak it around a bit.
Again, excellent work. All the best!
Thanks for comments... I will work a little more in the shadows.... thanks, Glockman, Aheman ,Dan, Ibadge.
UPDATE: Shadow for three enlarged and moved, desaturated field and wagon, added shadows to parts of the wagon. ![]()
Great entry, GL!
best entry in this contest!
Much improved except the angle of the tree shadow (good) is not matched by the angle of the cart shadow.
Thanks again for your comments.
Dan: Thank you I moved the angle of the tree shadow.
Great emotional depth and feel to this one. Bravo!
Stunning flaming sky
Beautiful, good work.
congrats
.. loved this entry.. congrats.on third place )
Thanks for support...... and comments....
Thanks to ppdigital from Morguefile, for the pic of the concrete texture, used as my background.
The rest is PS and lots of patience.
UPDATE: I had to go for the realistic leaves...sorry Mossy. Background, desaturated. (172 days ago)
| 8/14 | n/a | 68.2 |
Peaches are very well made, and realistic looking. Can't say the same for the leaves. I'd suggest modeling them after a realistic leaf to keep your image consistent. GL author.
CMYK: Thanks, I have to go out to the yard and look at a real leaf of a peach tree we have. I did this just thinking of a peach, and leaves, kind of hard to do this by heart. No reference used. Good idea! ![]()
Noooooooo!!!!
The surreal leaves are my favorite part after the beautiful shading on the peaches.
The background is a bit too intense for my taste, I'd soften it by decreasing the contrast very, very slightly, but leave the leaves be!
~M
Thanks MossyB: I just finished drawing more natural leaves, and look nice, but I will wait. I think you are right. Will soften the backgroud.... maybe desaturating it...a little?
Author.. if you put a gaussian disk in faded black underneath the bowl and burn it's bottom edge it will help with grounding the bowl .. another disk under the isolated fruit will help as well (IMHO), Overall, FANTASTIC image! Good luck
Beautiful image author...Whole creation is top notch...High marks from me and i wish u good luck...
STEP 19....Shows my first final image. The leaves were changed to the ones I have in my final now. So, you'll get an idea of what the image looked before.
Mossy, I am sorry I had to go with the realistic look leaves. The image looks better, I think, thank you for suggesting about background, it is desaturated now.
CMYK: You got it! Leaves look nice. Driven, the basket / peach are grounded now.
Erathion: thanks.:-
GL author!
Great job on the peaches (they almost look fuzzy) and the new leaves , author!

Beautiful!
This is really creative with a tough source pic!
This is so well done, it makes me want to channel my inner Martha Stewart. I would need some paper plate holders, wire, tin snips, textured metal, a soldering kit...ahem, anyway, this is a beautiful, understated, very well done entry. The shadow work is perfect.
Thank you for our comments.
Congrats for 3rd, George. Wonderful entry.
