Great idea!
I think I'd remove the big guy's fin, though...it's kinda blurry and doesn't really look like it's holding his cigar. He'd look tough just holding it in his mouth. Excellent mood...GL author. Reply »

Ah, come closer my friend. Get comfortable. You witnessed something thats familybuisiness, so I guess we have to talk. You know, this pathetic traiter didnt understand the concept of silence, but im sure you do. You dont want to end up like him, sleeping with the fishes, right? I let you go, thats no problem. But one hand washes the other, In return for my merci you leave a nice vote to this entry, lets say about 95 percent. Isnt that a solution that makes both of us happy? Nice to make deals with you.

Great idea and quite well done -- although I agree with CMYK about the cigar -- maybe move it down a bit and use some perhaps liquify on the bottom lip -- All in all a great bit of work Reply »
Dramatic, aggressive, disturbing with an appropriately moody color palette. The double-exposure thing happening in the skyline background visible in hi-res is odd, however. Also, I don't think a fish victim is going to be all that threatened by being thrown into the water; a cat victim might be more appropriate as an enemy that can't swim—and an adorable orange tabby kitten could accentuate the evilness of the foreground figure. (Would "sleeping with us fishes" be a more relevant title?) Reply »

a world full of delicious marbles! oh what a pleasure.

absolutely awesome work
, you might want to have a little look at his left hand, Ifeel the top knuckle needs to be a bit to the right, so his hand looks like it is wrapped around the knife
Excellent sbs Reply »
Excellent!! There are a few areas that need some touching up when you view in hi-res, IMHO (the hand holding the knife)...but this is outstanding! Reply »

Absolutely brilliant illustration. Love the high res. Perhaps remove some back shadow of small mouse and try not to have the entire shadow replicate the shape of the mouse. Having a set down shadow will help ground this little guy. I thought rats have red eyes...

Wow! I support this kind of entries, this is absolute photoshopping skill. Unfortunately most of us never check SBS, and they will think this is created from a photograph using just filters. High votes from me, just for encouraging. Hi author, one suggestion: If you make the edge little blur(next to black background) will be better. GL Reply »

did some corrections (2 years and 321 days ago)
This really is an amazing work. To think that you pulled this from that little street sign is just mind boggling. I love the colors and textures that you used on the creature as well. If I had to nitpick, I'd say lose the outer glow on the creature and lose the staff entirely. Sometimes less is more, and I feel that you don't really need either of those two elements. If you keep the staff, though, I'd at least fix the cap at the bottom of the shaft. It blends in with the creature's tail a bit too much and, until I viewed the hi res, I didn't even know it was part of the staff. Anyway, awesome! Reply »
- I corrected the wings. I guess its better now -
Thanks for your comments!
Thaks to obsidan dawn for the aurorabrushes! (used for haze in the background)

this is the best thing i've seen in a looong time! And not just on this site! I've only been here a month!! Excellent work.. i have no negative comments.. and i usually do. And i wouldn't worry about not being able to see the original image.. as long as its in there somewhere it shouldn't put voters off chosing your masterpiece. Again, excellent work. Really well done.
